Objectives

The main purpose of the Consortium conforms with the following issues:

 

1) To protect, promote and uphold the matters on the subject of the designation of origin of Boca, Bramaterra, Colline Novaresi, Coste della Sesia, Fara, Gattinara, Ghemme, Lessona and Sizzano wines.

2) To undertake all the assignments and tasks given to the Consortiums by the European and National Community on the subject of Denomination wines in compliance with Law â„– 164-1992 and relevant guidelines.

Specifically:

a - To cooperate in overlooking the application of Law â„– 164-1992.

b - To organize and coordinate practices of the subjects involved in the production and marketing of each Designation within their field of competence in order to protect and uphold the designations themselves.

c - To apply specific procedures in order to ensure conformity between operational responsibility and wine regulations that wine makers are subject to, as well as to protect the designations of origin from plagiarism, unfair competition, preemption and other offences. To always defend the lawful interests of the Consortium also by bringing a civil action in any relevant proceeding.

d - To implement all procedures to both directly and indirectly strengthen the Designations from a technical and brand perspective.

e - To cooperate with subjects and partaking in events with similar objectives in order to promote and supporting the production of wine and that of Protected Products.

 

3) The Consortium may also:

a - Suggest the wine regulation for each Designation wine.

b - Undertake advisory and operational functions by managing relationships with the European Union, national, regional and local bodies, such ad the Chambers of Commerce for Industry, Craft and Agriculture on the subject of management of vineyards, statement of grape and wine production, allocation of marks, in compliance with article 23 of Law 164-1992 as well as anything falling in the same area of competence of the above bodies on the ground Designation wines.

c - Carry out tutoring and providing technical assistance at every stage in the wine field with reference to the administration and use of the Designations.

d - Establish bureaus specialized in functions carried out by third parties on behalf of affiliated companies.

e - Join and/or cooperating with representative authorities of designations of origin at every level also to benefit from their administrative and technical expertise.

f - Join and/or cooperating with consortiums for the protection of other designations as part of the same territory, both partially or in full.

g - Connect to other authorities and associations of consortiums sharing the same objective of coordination and assistance by conferring and empowering their own roles and tasks to them.

h - Authorise other consortium to the use of one’s own administrative expertise by prior agreement and in compliance with article â„–7, paragraph â„–3 of legislative Decree 4/6/1997 â„– 256.

 

In order to better pursue the above goals, the Consortium may also require:

 

1) to be in charge of overlooking the compliance of Law 164-1992 toward its members

 

2) authorization to exercise its duties in accordance with article â„–21 of Law 164-1992.
